Health & Safety

Commitment to Health & Safety
The PCC is committed to ensuring the Health and Safety of all users of all of the Church owned properties in the Parish.

Risk Assessments
Risk Assessments of all buildings have been carried out and necessary steps taken to minimise the risk to users.

Fire Exits
Parish Church
At the Parish Church the three doors to the outside are marked on a floor plan displayed in each pew.

Church Hall
There are four Emergency Exits: via the Vestry, via the Kitchen, the door into the courtyard, and thence into the car park, and the main entrance doors.
All Fire Exits in the Church Hall are marked with illuminated emergency exit signs and are fitted with 'Crash Bars'. However, for security reasons all doors are locked when the hall is unoccupied.
It is the responsibility of ALL USERS to ensure that all the doors are unlocked when the building is in use.

Exits in both buildings must be kept clear of obstructions at all times.

Fire Fighting Equipment
Fire fighting equipment is provided in both the Church and the Hall, and users of the buildings should make themselves aware of its location. Fire fighting equipment should only be used when it is safe to do so.

Fire Alarms
Church Hall
Two manual fire alarm sounders are provided at the Church Hall, one at the front of the stage, near the door to the supper room and one in the alcove, near the main door. These are provided in compliance with the requirements of temporary theatre licences.

Evacuation
In the event of an evacuation occupiers of the buildings should make their way out by the nearest available exit and make their way to the assembly point, which is the car park at the relevant location.

Responsibility of Users
Users of all buildings are required to act responsibly and must report any defects in buildings or equipment that might impact on the safety of themselves or others.
