Youth Groups
St Mary's Church currently runs four weekly youth groups for young people ages 4 - 18. All these are based at our Church Hall on Morton Carr Lane and meet regularly on Monday's for a whole host of activities.

Note: All youth groups are lead by approved leaders of St Mary's Church, Nunthorpe, with necessary Criminal Records Bureau Checks in place.

Firecrackers

Are you aged 4 - 8?

Firecrackers - Monday's (3:30pm - 5:00pm)
This exciting children's group runs straight after school each Monday during term time. With loads of games, crafts, food and plenty of fun! This is an ideal chance to run around after school, and an extra 90 minutes for parents to relax. Each child will need a parent/guardian to stay with them during the session (we provide tea/coffee and of course biscuits for the adults too!). Focus is clearly on fun with a background of love and care for everybody around us.

Thunderbolts

Are you aged 8 - 11?

Thunderbolts - Monday's (5:45pm - 7:15pm)
This group is our latest addition to our weekly youth groups and has been growing in numbers. Each evening starts of with a few simple games whilst people are coming in, before we have our weekly challenge of 'Girls v Boys'! Recent activities have included visits to local sports centres and woodland; water related and both outdoor and indoor games; fundraising challenges, crafts and so much more! Based on enjoyment we endeavour to inform the group about the aspects of God's work that relate to being together and sharing the good things that surround us.

Lightning Bolts

Are you aged 11 - 14?

Lightning Bolts - Monday's (7:30pm - 9:00pm)
Lightning Bolts is our longest serving group, which was set up over 10 years ago and is still going strong today. This is a great group for early teen, jam-packed with exciting games and challenges. Don't miss out on our versions of 'I'm a Celebrity' and 'Hells Kitchen'; whilst our yearly outward bound activity weekend is another not to be missed! As children develop into young adults we encourage the family and community aspects of life.

EQ

Are you aged 14 - 18?

EQ - Friday's (7:30pm - 9:30pm)
This group for late teens is full of exciting activities, outings and adventures! From inflatable gladiator battles and bowling outings, to huge sleepovers for charity and anything involving chocolate; we get up-to loads of random stuff, and have loads of fun doing it!

10 months of the year, EQ host a youth nightclub style event. Where an average of 60 local young people under 18 come together for disco's, DJ's, bands, pool, table football and so much more.

Although still based upon enjoyment, this group have a religious focus of discipleship, and Christianity plays an increasing role in group meetings.
