Everyone welcome to this service to celebrate the Women's World Day of Prayer.

Theme: Am I Being Unfair to You?

Women’s World Day of Prayer is an international, ecumenical, prayer movement that invites women, from a different part of the world each year, to prepare a worship service through which their hopes and fears for their country may be brought before the whole world in prayer.
On Friday 3rd March an estimated 3 million people in over 170 countries and islands will gather to observe the day of prayer, using an order of service written by the Christian women in the Philippines and translated into over 60 languages and 1000 dialects. In the British Isles over 6000 services will be held. The day begins as the sun rises over the island of Samoa and continues until it sets off the coast of American Samoa some 35 hours later.

The theme of the service is “Am I being unfair to you”
“That’s not fair” is a cry often heard – from playground, through school, into workplace or political corridors. In the service we will take time to reflect on what this means to us as individuals and to our world through the eyes of the women of the Philippines.
Just as the women began to write this service the Philippines was struck by Typhoon Haiyan which caused much destruction. The people of the Philippines certainly need our prayers.
