As part of the celebration there will be a series of concerts, as follows:

Organ Recital by Harry Brown ~ Saturday 18th April at 7.30pm. in the church.

Our current organ was donated to the church in 2020, in loving memory of the late Rev'd Judy Cook, Assistant Curate to the Parish, by her brother. Since the organ was installed during the Covid pandemic, when no special events to celebrate its installation could be held, it seems appropriate now to acknowledge this welcome enhancement to the church, and also give thanks for the life of Judy, and the valuable work that she performed in the parish.

Harry Brown is currently an Organ Scholar at Birmingham Cathedral. As a local lad he has played this organ a number of times - and loves it! Expect to be amazed as he puts it through its paces.

The Centenary Chorus Concert, directed by Nicola Tayler  ~  Sunday 17th May at 2pm.  in the church.

The Centenary Chorus has been specially formed for the event, using local singers of all abilities, keen to join with us in providing a memorable afternoon of singing, to celebrate this wonderful occasion. Nicola Tayler is an experienced local choir leader and, among other things, accompanies the Guisborough Choral Society.

If you would like to join this choir, please contact Bill Colombi by email - bill.colombi@gmail.com

Three of the Best (Julian Tovey, Charlotte Potter and Rob Nash) ~ Sunday 14th June at 2pm. in the church

Bringing together three hugely talented local singers: Julian Tovey, internationally renowned opera singer, brother of local councillor Wade Tovey, and whose mother sang in the St Mary's Church Choir for many years. Charlotte Potter, from Guisborough, is now living and working in London. She is progressively making a name for herself nationally as a soprano, having previously performed with Guisborough Choral Society. Completing the line-up is Rob Nash, who trained with Zuilmah Hopkins of Great Ayton, before taking up the more secure profession of teaching. Now retired, he sings with, and is chairman of, Guisborough Choral Society, providing the odd baritone solo when required. He also sings with the Erimus Singers.

The Erimus Singers (Chamber Choir) ~ Saturday 18th July at 7.30pm.  in the church.

A small local choir, singing to a very high standard, under the baton of well-known choir leader John Dixon. A number of the choir also sing with Guisborough Choral Society.

The Saxophone Group - part of the Family Fun Day  ~ Saturday 12th September (pm).

Not so much a concert as a great sound to enhance the atmosphere of the Family Fun Day. The group, made up talented local amateur musicians, is a 'sub-set' of Teesside Wind Band, which celebrated its 25th Anniversary last year. There will be a 'bucket-collection' on the day to assist with their expenses.

Teesside Wind Band Christmas Concert (venue to be confirmed)  ~ 1st December  at 7pm.

Teesside Wind Band played in St Mary's Church for a number of years, but its growing size and popularity has made it more difficult for the band to squeeze into the church. However, the band is keen to celebrate with the parish, so we are exploring ways we can make it happen.

It is planned to include 'The World' in Union' in each concert. Rugby Union fans will be very familiar with this anthem, but the sentiments of the words fit very aptly with the prayers for world peace that we say each week.

Tickets: Because of limited space in the church, admission will be by ticket only.

Details for obtaining tickets will be published in due course. There will be a 'bucket-collection for the entertainment provided by the Saxophone Group at the Fun Run / Family Picnic event.
